Sexual identity Development Study

Has your sexual identity label ever changed? Perhaps you used to use the term bisexual, but now you use queer, or maybe you were once straight, but since experiencing a gender transition, you now identify as gay.

  • If the above sounds like you, then you are likely eligible for this study!

  • The study involves completing a brief online survey.

  • Following the survey, you will have the opportunity to sign up for an Interview

  • All participants will be entered into a prize draw to win a $50 gift card.

  • If selected for an interview, you will receive a $20 gift card for your time.

  • Participants must be 18 years of age or older

  • Participants need to either currently identify as a sexual or gender minority or have done so in the past.

This study has been approved by the Acadia University Research Ethics Board.

romantic Relationships Study

Researchers at Acadia University are seeking participants for a study on romantic relationships.

To participate, you must be:

  • 18-25 years old

  • Currently in a romantic relationship

  • All types of romantic relationships are welcome!

The survey is online and will take between 30 and 45 minutes to complete. All participants will be entered into a prize draw to win a $150 Amazon gift card.

Gender & Relationships Survey

Researchers at the University of Waterloo, St. Jerome’s University, and Acadia University are recruiting participants for a study on Gender & Relationships.

  • Are you 18 years of age or older?

This study is about experiences of gender, femininity, masculinity, violence, and relationship conflict. Click the button below for more details.

Survey participants will have a chance to win a $100 CAD gift card.

Interview participants will be paid $25 for participation.

Open to:

  • all genders

  • all sexualities

  • all relationship types

  • We are particularly interested in hearing from femmes!

Online Survey for Women

Are you a woman who is 18 years of age or older? If so, we would love to hear from you in this new study being conducted by Dr. Rhea Ashley Hoskin and her students. The study asks you questions about whether you have ever had other people comment on your gender or gender presentation. For example, has anyone ever told you to be more or less feminine or masculine? Has someone said you aren’t ‘ladylike’ enough or that you are too much of a tomboy? Or perhaps someone has pressured you to be less feminine or less ‘girly’. Or maybe other people simply don’t comment on your gender! Whatever your experience, we’d love to hear from you.

The survey takes most people between 45 and 60 minutes to complete. At the end, you’ll have the chance to be entered into a prize draw to win one of 4 $100 CAD gift cards!

The study is open to women over the age of 18 anywhere in the world who can complete an online, English survey.
